How to make a digital loyalty card, step by step
Your paper punch card, but on your customers' phones. Here's how to set it up from your phone, with nothing to install and no tech skills needed.
Before you start: decide two things
A digital loyalty card works just like the paper one: your customer collects visits and earns something. Before you pick up your phone, have two answers ready.
If you don't know what to choose yet, read our guide «How many stamps to ask for and what to give». And don't worry: you can change the reward later.
- How many visits it takes to earn the reward. In Repik you choose from 5 to 10.
- What they earn: a coffee, a haircut, an order, a manicure.
Step 1: sign up from your phone
It all happens on one screen. We don't ask for a credit card to start: you get 30 days free.
- Type your business name and your city.
- Add your WhatsApp: that number is how you log in to your dashboard.
- Create a password with letters and numbers that you don't use anywhere else.
- Choose how many visits and what they earn.
- Accept the terms and tap «Create my program».
Step 2: print your counter QR
When you finish, you see «You're live» with a button to download a PDF. It's your counter card with your QR. Print it on a half-letter sheet or send it to a print shop.
Put it where your customers pay or wait: next to the register, on the counter or on the tables. It should be visible without anyone looking for it.
Step 3: try it yourself first
Before you offer it to anyone, scan the QR you printed with your phone's camera. You'll see exactly what your customer sees: a page with your business, where they can leave their name and phone if they want, and then the button to save the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Your customer doesn't download any app.
Step 4: stamp from your phone
When your customer comes back, open the scanner in your dashboard and point it at the card in their Wallet. The stamp shows up on their card.
If you have employees, add them under «Staff» and each one stamps from their own phone. Stamping needs internet; your mobile data is enough.
Step 5: finish customizing it
Your card works from day one. When you have a moment, add your logo and color from your dashboard, and change the reward with «Edit» if you want. The changes show up on your customers' cards.
What to tell your customer
In the first week, offer it yourself every time you ring someone up. One short line is enough:
«Do you have our card yet? Scan here and it saves to your phone. I stamp it every visit, and when you collect 8 you earn a coffee.»
Swap «a coffee» for your reward and the 8 for your number of visits.
